Water Boy

Jamie and I went swimming today. The weather was hovering near three digit temperatures, so the water felt really good! Jamie has learned how to doggie paddle quite well, so I stole his boogie board as used it to help me float around the pool quite contentedly. We were in the water so long we both had wrinkly fingers! A fun time was had by all. Here's a picture of Jamie enjoying the water. I wouldn't let him take a picture of me. :-)

And now I have to go. I'm going to try Ann's recipe for spinach curry, but I'll make some substitutions in order to use what we have. Like, we have ground ginger, and ground cumin, and ground chili powder, and garlic powder and dehydrated onions. And we don't have any tomatoes, but I'm going to try to see what happens when I use carrots instead. We have some old one that need to be used before they go to waste. I may have to call Ann and ask for her help as I'm cooking though!

It's interesting to read your blog while you're talking to Annie on the phone! I will check my email. You need to go to Dollar Tree and buy yourselves some pool noodles--they're a lot of fun. And then Geron can teach you how to play one like an Alpenhorn. He did that in Wal-Mart at Pigeon Forge one time while I was trying to talk to Laurel on the phone. He is not nice.

Did you know the noodles can also be used as water cannons? They shoot water really, really far. Of course, now that I'm no longer a smoker, I can make the water go even further since I actually have more lung capacity! I'm so glad I got rid of that nasty habit!!!

Have lots of fun on your vacation. Give everybody big hugs for me!

And the spinach curry was awesome! Of course, I made substitutions and didn't use exact measurements. But it was still really good! So, thanks Ann!

I was going to ask how the chicken curry turned out--glad to see it was good. I like Daniel's chicken curry, I've never had any of Ann's Indian cooking.

Pool noodles really are a great investment. You may have noticed on my blog that I like to prop one behind my head and kick my feet up on the side of the pool---maybe I didn't use a noodle there, but either way, they're great!!

Jennifer, Jamie doesn't look like a little boy anymore. He is starting to look like an adolescent. Get ready.

[Sigh] I know. In fact, he has already started puberty but I STILL haven't told him certain things (you know - birds, bees, and all that stuff). I can't believe he's growing up so soon! Eight is WAAAAYYY to young to hit puberty, but his doctor confirmed it at his last "regular" doctor appointment. I think I had already mentioned the story of why we were there... If I hadn't told you that one, e-mail me and I'll tell it to you. It isn't something I think Jamie would like put on a public blog!
