Happy Valentine's Day!

... Or, as I like to say, "Happy Corporate-Generated Holiday Designed to Sucker You Into Supporting the Greeting Card, Flowers and Candy Industries!"

This afternoon I told my students (except the 7! who were out with high fevers) about St. Valentine. They had lots of questions. One kid was off in anotehr area of the room when I was telling them, and when he came back, he wanted to hear the first part of it. I was about to tell him, but another student volunteered. He got every detail right. I was very impressed. Anyway, I like the story of St Valentine, but my sweet husband and I haven't done squat for the holiday! Happy Valentine's to you, too!

Heh. Nicely put. When people ask me what I'm doing for St. Valentine's day (OR St. Patrick's day, for that matter), I always puzzle them by replying "Nothing! I'm not Catholic."

tee hee!

I will say though, that Jamethan surprised Momma by getting me a beautiful necklace, giving me a big hug and a kiss, and telling me he loves me great big bunches.

Oh, and this was the year he made a special card for a cutie patootie in his class, in addition to the ones he gave to everybody. My boy is growing up!
