Update

Got a call from the Gastroenterologist.  All tests came back normal.  While I am thankful that there is nothing drastic going on, I’m still frustrated and frazzled because I don’t know WHY Jamie is having stomach pain.  The next step is to take Jamie back to his allergy doctor (who is also an asthma doctor, so we can figure out how to control his newly-discovered asthma issues) for a complete work-up and testing over all foods and all other allergens to see if this is causing his stomach pain.  If that doesn’t shed any light on anything, it’s back to the neurologist to see if Jamie is experiencing some sort of “stomach migraine” (yes, they are real, just rare) in addition to his other migraine.  They are caused by the same triggers in the brain, but no real clue as to why.  As always, I’ll keep you informed.

I think it likely that the headaches and stomach pains are caused by stress and fear, sis. The bullying at school seems a more likely cause than some obscure health issue in a physically active and well-fed child. Sure, if all he ate was junk food and all he did was watch TV, then yeah, I'd say the doctors will find something; but since he plays soccer, plays outdoors with his friends, and (I assume) gets fed nutritionally balanced meals then I'd say you're probably wasting your time and money going to doctors looking for an unknown cause when you already KNOW he's being terrorized in school. Yes?

Remember the migraines and nausea I always used to have in elementary school back in Oklahoma? They magically vanished when that high-school jerk on our bus who was always picking on me moved away (remember? the one with the wanna-be Kevin Bacon hair who thought he was cool).

I was just about to ask how Jamie's doing. I've been praying for him, so please keep me updated. I don't always check the blogs, but I do check my email. Keep hanging in there, Jenn. You're a great mommy!

Still sending you and Jaime prayers and good vibes. I hope you will get to the bottom of this.

You know, Jenn, your big brother might be onto something. I had awful stomach cramps one year in junior high, and I'm sure it was related to social stress and the horrendous school food I ate every day. Jamie's problems seem so severe, there is probably something else to it, but any stress he's experiencing surely isn't helping. Anyway, I hope you and his doctors get to the bottom of it and help him get better!
